Debt Settlement
Bay View Law Group has extensive experience and expertise debt negotiation settlements for clients in distress. Our firm specializes in handling cases where bankruptcy is not an option and the client sees no way out or simply wants to lower their debt burden and restore their financial stability. Debt Counseling
Debt Counseling is known by many other names such as Credit Counseling, Debt Management, or Consumer Credit Counseling. This debt relief option involves working with the creditors to lower the interest rates being charged to the consumer. With debt counseling the goal is for the consumer to able to get out of debt in roughly 5 years and able to save some money on their high interest credit cards. Many universities, military bases, credit unions, and housing authorities operate non-profit debt counseling programs. But some of these institutions may charge a fee for their services. Also, creditors may only be willing to accept reduced payments if you are working with a reputable program to create a debt repayment plan.
Bankruptcy
Bankruptcy laws have recently changed and unfortunately, Chapter 7 bankruptcy is much more difficult to qualify for today. Bay View Law Group’s bankruptcy expertise allows our advisors to provide expert advice to its clients so the client can determine whether bankruptcy is their best alternative. We have particular expertise in bankruptcy laws, judgment and wage garnishments.
